Southwest Iowa Dance Studio
Our goal is to teach students to enjoy all the facets of dancing; technical knowledge, music appreciation, body confidence, expression of the heart, and stage presence. We want them to exercise the creativity of their bodies and minds and leave with the lifelong skills of confidence onstage and loving to dance. This is accomplished with an encouraging, non-competitive studio environment showing an age appropriate awareness to our music and costuming choices.
Classes are offered in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance for students starting at age 4
Tuition assistance is available for qualifying students. For more information about dance classes or other activities at the Wilson Performing Arts Center, call 712-623-3135.

Instructor

Joy Tunnicliff grew up in the Chicago suburbs and has been singing and dancing around the house since she was a child. Before she met her wonderful husband who convinced her to return with him to his hometown of Clarinda, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design from Millikin University. She is the owner and instructor of The Dance Studio in Clarinda and instructs in Red Oak at the Wilson Performing Arts Center. When Joy is not dancing in Clarinda or Red oak, she spends her time with her two daughters.
