EMPOWER! Youth Theatre Troupe
Empower is a group of talented, dramatic and very cool kids, from Southwest Iowa, who are delivering a message of hope and prevention to their peers. With the use of drama and talk back sessions they educate youth and adults about the effects of bullying, how to detect it and strategies to address and prevent it going forward.
The “Empower” youth Theater Troupe is a collaborative project of the Montgomery County Family Success Network, the Performing Arts and Education Association of Southwest Iowa and is supported through funding from Boost4Families. It is based at the Wilson Performing Arts Center, in Red Oak, and brings it’s presentations to middle and high school students, as well as other youth organizations in Montgomery, Mills and Cass counties.
“Empower” is getting ready to launch it’s 2011 – 12 program, which includes adding a new presentation on substance abuse, and is looking for high school youth who would be interested in participating in the group as performers.
