Become a Patron of the Arts

PAEA is a nonprofit group, but it is our responsiblity to operate within the framework of a sound financial plan. We have a number of income sources, including ticket sales, tuition, grants, and our endowment when we move into the Wilson Performing Arts Center. We must also rely on the generosity of our businesses to support the annual program book with their advertising dollars to assist in deferring artist fees. Now, we are asking that individuals in our service area also contribute to the success of our mission.

We invite you to become a "Patron of the Arts" and a partner in presenting outstanding performing arts events for the entire area of southwest Iowa. Your tax deductible contribution will benefit many by helping make the arts widely available for all of our residents and visitors.

During the 2006-07 season of touring professional performers, PAEA has been delighted to offer four very different concerts, each with outstanding and talented individuals. Every season, PAEA will focus on quality and select only those groups who have distinguished themselves as prominent in their arts. We will provide these world-class professionals at reasonable ticket prices.

PAEA is an advocate of providing the people of southwest Iowa an opportunity to perform. Within our communities, there are a number of very talented people. The Southwest Iowa Concert Chorale rehearses and performs two programs ea.ch year. Strings Unlimited performs two concerts a year, and this year our guitar students will also perform a spring recital.

PAEA is in the fifth year of programming for arts education. Students of all ages from all of the communities in southwest Iowa are encouraged to participate in developing their creativity. PAEA currently is offering weekly music lessons in stringed instruments and guitar. When the Wilson Performing Arts Center opens, there will be a variety of weekly dance classes as well. Whenever possible, PAEA has arranged for the professional performers to present residency programs. PAEA is collaborating with the Wabash Arts Camp to present Missoula Children's Theatre for the third year.

Give a Gift of the Arts

Isn't there always someone on your shopping list that you just can't find that perfect gift? They are so fussy that you're not sure what to buy or they seem to have everything they could ever want. And mailing gifts is always such a hassle, boxing then standing in lines to ship. Gift cards or flowers are not what you want to do, sometimes they seem so impersonal.

PAEA has a suggestion for that ever challenging gift idea...GIVE A GIFT OF THE ARTS!

  • Theatre seat naming opportunities at the Wilson Performing Arts Center
  • Donations to the Building Fund
  • Concert Tickets to any performance sponsored by the PAEA.

Theatre Seats and Naming Opportunities Still Available

The Performing Arts and Education Association of Southwest Iowa (PAEA) still has theatre seats and naming opportunities available for the Wilson Performing Arts Center.

During the summer, families often gather with relatives visiting or family reunions. As you reflect on the past and fond memories, it is a good time to think about honoring family members and friends with a donation in their name to a permanent facility, a quality of life enrichment for southwest Iowa, the Wilson Performing Arts Center. Main floor theatre seats are $1000, and balcony seats are $500. Other naming opportunities include such things as the Marquee, the dance floor, the grand curtain, and the Costume Shop.

The Wilson Performing Arts Center is a $7.5 million project. The Center will have a 250-seat professional quality theatre, classroom space, a dance studio, and full back-of-the-house facilities such as a set shop and a costume shop. The construction site is just east of the intersection of Highways 34 and 48 in Red Oak, a central location for the PAEA eight-county service area of southwest Iowa. Fundraising has generated significant contributions, and PAEA is eager to finalize the construction arrangements. It is hoped that the Wilson Performing Arts Center will open in 2007.

For more information about naming opportunities at the Wilson Performing Arts Center or other programs and activities of the PAEA, please call the Performing Arts and Education Association of Southwest Iowa at 712-623-3135.
