Rebecca Vanderhol
Rebecca Vanderholm, full-time violinist with the Omaha Symphony, has taught violin and piano for over 20 years. She was born and raised in the Chicago area, with family ties to Iowa where she now resides.
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and a Master of Arts degree in violin performance from the University of Iowa. She has also taken advanced studies at the Mannes School of Music in New York City, and attended Master Classes with many world-renowned musicians, including Isaac Stern, Janos Starker and Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg.
Vanderholm began her orchestra career with the Quad-City Symphony in the Rock-Island / Davenport area, and has played with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, the Lincoln Symphony, and Mannheim Steamroller. She has been with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra since 1990.
While in college, Vanderholm taught both violin and piano and was a part-time string teacher in the Iowa City public school system. She has also taught in the Omaha Public Schools as a string specialist, and was on the faculty at the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan for three summers.
Rebecca (Becky) is married and lives with her husband Paul and daughters Heidi and Jody in Stanton.

Guy Somers
Guy has played the guitar for nearly 30 years, having studied at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Southern Missouri State University, and Central Bible College. He teaches many styles of guitar, including blues, jazz, rock, classical, and contemporary worship. Guy also enjoys performing with drums and percussion and has experience as a sound and video technician and a public speaker. He and his wife, Kathy, often perform guitar and flute duets.
For the past eight years, Guy has operated the Somers Guitar School in Atlantic. His emphasis is on sight-reading, technique, ear training, music theory, fretboard knowledge, improvisation, composition, and especially performance. He also teaches basic instrument care and minor maintenance.
