STRINGS UNLIMITED OF SOUTHWEST IOWA

   Strings Unlimited is for anyone nine years or older who wishes to learn to play the violin, viola, cello, or string bass.
   Rebecca Kia has been the Strings Unlimited instructor for PAEA for five years. Ms. Kia is a full-time violinist with the Omaha Symphony and also solos regularly with Mannheim Steamroller. She is a Chicago native, and has studied at Augustana College, the University of Iowa, and the Mannes School of Music in New York. She combines over twenty years of teaching experience with nearly twenty years of professional symphony performance.

Who We Are...

We are the students from the String Classes of the Performing Arts & Education Association of Southwest Iowa.

  • We come from all over Southwest Iowa—Clarinda, Glenwood, Hamburg, Malvern, Red Oak, Sidney, Stanton and Villisca.
  • We range in age from 9 to over 60!
  • Most of us have been playing for just over one year!

SOMERS GUITAR SCHOOL

   PAEA is proud to be an associate of Guy Somers and Somers Guitar School.  Somers Guitar (in Atlantic, Carroll & Red Oak, Iowa) is Southwest Iowa's leading, professional guitar school. They offer private, class and intensive lessons on acoustic, electric, bass, classical guitar & banjo. They also teach many styles for musicians of all ages from 8 years old to seniors. Private lessons for students ages 8 to 11 are taught by professionally trained student instructors.  Private lessons and classes for ages 12 to adult are taught by adult instructors

   Taught by David Catherall, classes are offered in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance for students age 3 years through adults.

Spirit Dance


MINI CHEER & POM, MINI MIXED, and HIP HOP

    Mini Cheer & Pom and Mini Mixed Spirit Dance, taught by Hollie Askey and assisted by Cheri & Jessica McFarland, is for students ages 4 years old through second grade.

   Gemz & Jewelz Hip Hop Dance, taught by Shauna Berendes, is for students ages 6 years through adult.
